The Gallery spaces
The Gallery is located in its own three-storey building at the back of Langhans House. Immediately behind the Gallery is one of the most picturesque Prague locations, the Franciscan Gardens (Františkánská zahrada), a much frequented walkway between Václavské náměstí and Jungmannovo náměstí. The remodelling of Langhans House, on plans by Ladislav Lábus, was awarded the 2003 Grand Prix of the Society of Czech Architects and was voted Building of the Year in 2003.
The exhibition space comprises five rooms, 180 square metres in all, with 80 running metres of walls and panels. On the top floor is a reading room/reference library with mainly contemporary international publications on photography. The cellar space is used for screenings, and has a capacity of up to forty viewers.
