MEMORY, 15. 3. - 7. 5. 2006
This exhibition of four projects, spanning the times and different artistic approaches, relates to the phenomenon of memory and archives.
Photographs from the Langhans Archive – portraits of actors from Czech theatre and cinema in the years 1890–1943 will be shown as well as an exhibition of work by the Dutch engineer and amateur photographer Leo Polhuis (1928–1991), presenting his non-traditional family archive as a part of the project Private Domain of the artist Peter Hellemons. The Serbian artist Mihael Milunoviæ (b. 1967) will show rediscovered photographic pictures, a contribution to the search for possible interpretations of pictures of the past. The youngest generation will be represented by Dušan Skala (b. 1979) and his video-project concerned with the past and present of several families.
