History
Owing to historical ties, Langhans Gallery Prague was established in Vodičkova Street no. 37. It was in this house that Jan Langhans established one of the most prestigious photo studios in the Bohemian Lands, which had its main office here from 1880 to 1948. Zuzana Meisnerová-Wismer, Langhans’s great-granddaughter, initiated the carrying on of his legacy and the founding of the Gallery in spring 2003. For an overview of past projects, see Past Exhibitions, and for an overview of individuals and institutions that work with the Langhans Gallery please see Acknowledgements.
